Join in the Celebrations at Yorkshire Day 2013

Once again Wentbridge House near Pontefract is celebrating ‘all things Yorkshire’ with the return of their hugely popular Yorkshire Day event.

Yorkshire Day takes place every year on Thursday 1st August and includes a wide range of activities for all the family to enjoy. Gates open from 12 noon and entry is completely free.

Attractions at the annual event include live music, local trade stalls, chef demonstrations, and a display from the West Yorkshire Police Dogs Section - as well as lots of activities to take part in for both adults and children including archery, face painting, Punch and Judy shows and lots more!

Now in its third year, the event has become a key event in the Yorkshire calendar and all money raised goes to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. This year Wentbridge House hope to raise a record amount for their chosen charities, exceeding the £5000 raised in 2012.

Those that attended last year’s Yorkshire Day event will be pleased to hear of the return of ‘flat cap flinging’ at Yorkshire Day 2013 which will also joined this year by ‘wellie wanging’.  Crowds will also be thrilled by another breath-taking falconry display in country house’s beautiful grounds.

Yorkshire Day at Wentbridge is a Mecca for food lovers who flock to sample the local foods including cheeses, hog roasts, fish & chips and ales all produced in the county of Yorkshire.

Wentbridge House also create a special ‘Yorkshire Day’ menu which can be pre-booked and enjoyed in the Brasserie for lunch and dinner as well as afternoon tea which is served in the restaurant throughout the day.
