Ingredients
700g minced lamb
1 garlic cloves crushed or Frozen (block)
1/2 teaspoon of dried mixed herbs
300-350g tub of tomato/pasta sauce (we used Lloyd Grossman lasagne sauce)
For the Cheese sauce
1 egg
300 ml carton double cream
200g mature cheddar
9-12 fresh lasagna sheets
Method
1- Cook mince for 5-10 minutes until browned.
2- Once cooked add the garlic and dried herbs, then add the lasagne/tomato base sauce.
3 - Cook for 5-10 minutes, and set aside.
4 - Break egg into a large bowl add cheese and cream whisk together with a fork until combined.
5 - If you are using pre-cooked lasagne sheets like we did, you will have to soak in water for 2-3 minutes as per pack instructions.
6 - In ovenproof dish begin to spread about a couple of spoonfuls of meat sauce over the bottom, then cover with 1-2 lasagne sheets, continue to layer lasagna sheets and meat sauce until you get close to the top, if you want you can also drizzle some of the cheese sauce in between.
7- Drizzle the remaining cheese sauce over the top and spread to the edges of the dish.
8- Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until bubbling and golden. Leave to stand for 5 minutes before eating. serve with potato wedge and a side salad.
