ONBlackheath returns for 2019, taking place in the height of summer on the 13th and 14th of July, A fun-filled two-day event for all the family, with the very best of family entertainment revealed for this year. London’s must-attend music, food and family festival, ONBlackheath is the ultimate summer weekend to enjoy fun-filled activities for the whole family, mouth-watering food and world-class live music.

Andy Day - Widely known for his antics tackling dinosaurs, baby animals and being on safari, much-loved children’s BBC TV presenter Andy Day will be playing the Family Playground stage. Andy has spent the last 18 months playing gigs, releasing music and championing the hugely successful and far-reaching ‘Odd Socks Day’ for Anti-Bullying Week with his brilliant band ‘Andy and the Odd Socks’.
Sooty and Mr Maker - The fantastic Mister Maker and his Shape sidekick Rectangle will also be putting on a fun packed show at ONBlackheath this year, perfect for kids of all ages and the grown-ups too. Full of laughter, music and prize giveaways, this interactive family show will entertain everyone with its creative chaos. As well as Mister Maker, everyone’s favourite teddy bear Sooty will be holding his very own Birthday Bake-Off on-site at ONBlackheath, presented by Bonnie Spencer.
Sam Coperland - Also at the Family Playground will be bestselling author Sam Copeland as well as the winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize Jim Smith, both of whom will be reading a collection of wonderful tales to be enchanted by whilst basking in the sun on Blackheath Common. The very best of family comedy to entertain young and old alike will come from Comedy Club 4 Kids, as well as The Flying Seagull Project – a UK-based charity with an aim to spread love, light and laughter through engaging art workshops, music and dance lessons, circus shows and clown doctoring.
Boppin Bunnies - Based in South East London, musical geniuses Boppin’ Bunnies will be on-hand at ONBlackheath to help the young’uns develop a love of music through their engaging, magical classes. Their sessions will be a great chance to get your baby or toddler boppin’ along and in the ONBlackheath spirit!
Maynard’s Mini Zoo - Lurking around ONBlackheath will bw a range of extraordinary creepy crawlies waiting to be discovered, if you’re up to facing your fears. Maynard’s Mini Zoo can be found at the Family Playground, who’ll be showing off and educating families on their amazing reptiles, amphibians and mega bugs – from tarantulas to chameleons, and even snakes!
Science Experiments - From hands-on experiments to explosive stage performance, you can catch the greatest hits shows from the modern-day Einsteins from The Science Museum who will showcase some of their favourite demos – from creating instant ice-dream to earth-shaking bangs. There’ll also be the opportunity to get hands-on in the museum’s Slime Time workshop and make your very own slippery slime to take home.
There will be lots of other family activities at ONBlackheath including musical bingo fun with The Pop Bingo Disco, the most famous bubbleologist in the world SamSam Bubbleman’s Giant Bubble Show, interactive game zones with The Actual Reality Arcade and Albion Kids Show Soft Play and Pirate Ship, and arts and crafts workshops with Daemon or Doppelganger? and OTHERWORLD ARTS.
Live Music - Headlining the music bill at ONBlackheath 2019 will be Jamiroquai as a UK exclusive on Saturday 13 July, and Grace Jones performing on Sunday 14 July. Also on the line-up - prolific hip-hop group The Roots, soulful sensation Rag’n’Bone Man, multi-platinum singer James Morrison, one of Britain’s biggest reggae bands UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro, R&B hit-makers Soul II Soul and many more.
Food - Street Feast, who run London’s greatest day and night street food markets, will be offering a dazzling array of food and drink at this year’s festival. All you need to do is bring your appetite…
