Exploring London Bridge

I love living in London as there is so much to see do and explore. London offers the best in transport links, we can jump on the tube and be anywhere in Central London within 20 minutes. Last weekend we decided to visit one of our family favourite locations in London, London Bridge and Tower Bridge, to get the most out of our day we headed to Westminster Bridge Pier to catch a riverboat cruise along the Thames, this gave us the chance to view London from the river, its also a great way to travel and very relaxing.

We arrived at our designation London Bridge and took a nice stroll along the river bank passing the large moored HMS Belfast which is an old WWII warship-turned museum with naval guns, its the perfect place to explore if you want to know what life was like living at war and at sea, close by is Hays Galleria a small shopping area which was buzzing with visitors and tourists, it has a small array of eateries and shops which makes it a nice place to visit and grab a quick coffee.

We headed onto London Bridge which is the picture perfect place to capture London life, its also home to London's tallest Buildings in the UK the Shard, the Shard is a 95-storey supertall skyscraper where you can experience the best views of London, I really wanted to visit but the boys are a little reluctant due to its height, so I'll defiantly be heading back again soon to experience the views for myself.

If you are looking for another boat to explore then close to London Bridge is The Golden Hinde I was fortunate to take the boys a few years ago, an immersive history experience exploring the fascinating stories behind Sir Francis Drake's historic circumnavigation of the globe, I highly recommend visiting we had a great time, or if you like things a little scarier then why not pay a visit to The London Bridge Experience where you will step back in time and experience the gruesome history of London.

We headed onto Borough High Street which is home the world famous Borough Market which is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London and is well knows for its British and International produce.

We had already planned where we wanted to eat, so we made our way to a delicious Indian Curry House called Est India in Union Square, which was only a 10 minute walk from London Bridge the small square has a few restaurants and bars neatly tucked away, which is great if your looking to escape the hustle and bustle, the food was absolutely delicious.

We finished our day with a stroll back along the river heading towards Tower Bridge it was really really busy but the vibe was great as there were lots of pop up food and drinks stalls by Tower Bridge, I was hoping to get inside the Tower Bridge Museum but unfortunately we had just missed the last admission, another good reason to return for another mini family adventure.

“The spending money was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own.”
